Information Technology

Information Technology is one of the fastest growing career paths in todays technology connected infrastructure. IT will forever be needed regardless of the state of AI or the movement to automated operations within a company.

The real definition of IT or Information Technology is different for each technician or manager who works within or closely with IT professionals.  We are the solver of all computer-replated issues, the computer gods, the nerds who scare technology into submission, and plenty more.

My definition of IT is a little different.  IT, more specifically the people working in IT, are the employees/technicians that every single other employee relies on.  IT workers are the backbone of the company, they keep everything running.  IT is the ER of the company.  IT is more than a group of people, IT is a necessary, indisposable group of people who are passionate about technology and helping others.

I enjoy working in IT and find it rewarding to be the person that employees go to for help.  I take pride in being able to help someone with an issue, and I will always be in a position to do whatever I can to make everything run smoothly.

Information Security

Information Security, or as it's mostly known, Cyber Security, is extremely important in today's world.  Everything is interconnected and can be attacked at any time.  I find a passion in studying and securing infrastructure within my workplace and even at home.  I find that Cyber Security goes father into the realm of helping people than even IT does, you get to make sure that everyone who connects to your services are protected.

Currently, I hold an Associates of Science in Cyber Security and working towards a Bachellors of Applied Technology in Cyber Security.  I'm passionate about tech and helping people, but even more so about making the internet and technology more secure for all users.

Homelab

I personally maintain a homelab consisting of many different computers running as many services as possible.  I find that maintaining a lab and working with the hardware and software that I do, helps me learn and apply concepts that I can turn around and apply to my job.  My homelab is never in a finished state, I continue to add to it and will add to it.
